Let me
preface this by saying I am not a doctor or medical
professional but someone who knows a little about this
disease. I am a diabetic with Type 2
Diabetes. I had pre
diabetes for maybe two years and Syndrome X
for maybe 5
years before getting some help.
Certainly others who have this disease have fallen into this
same trap-for years I was in denial. At first I didn't
believe it, then I just flat out thought it was no big deal
and so didn't really pay attention to it-yet I had all the
classic risk factors associated with the disease and most of
the diabetes symptoms.
Don't fall into the same trap. Diabetes is a KILLER. It will
get you as sure as you are breathing.
The decision was made to do this website in the hopes that
others (some in my own family) would listen and learn and
maybe, just maybe might save themselves or their loved ones.
I hope to have the latest up to date information by way of a
blog (see
this link) and information that is both
readable and understandable to the common man to enlighten
you on all aspects of this terrible disease.
Sure there are other resources out there, plenty of them,
and we'll cite most of them for your reference. As a matter
of fact there is so much information that it can become
confusing. A lot of this website information comes from
personal experience and years of coping with the disease.
My goal then is to share my experiences and knowledge of
diabetes specifically, Type 2
Diabetes, with the readers in
the hopes of putting a small dent in the huge problem and
maybe helping some folks who either already have it or some
who are candidates to have it. It might even save a life or
two.
In this website we will discuss Type 1
Diabetes, Type 2
Diabetes and the causes of diabetes. In addition we will
outline the risk factors that lead to or cause diabetes and
pre diabetes including insulin resistance. Then we'll talk
about diabetes diagnosis and
diabetes complications
including diabetes neuropathy.
Included too is information on prevention-Yes there is
PREVENTION. Unfortunately there is no cure but if you are
careful and mindful, diabetes can be controlled and managed
so that a great quality of life is possible.
We will also address diabetes management and diabetes
treatment.
